Spotlighting Biosecurity

Spotlighting biosecurity is about shining a light on the key threats and topics that matter most to Tauranga Moana. By staying ahead of emerging and current biosecurity issues, we give our members and the wider community the opportunity to engage early, be informed and be prepared.

We do this through our events programme, where each event is themed around a current or emerging biosecurity threat relevant to our region. We bring in speakers and experts who are leaders in their field, from here in Tauranga and across New Zealand, to those doing cutting edge work offshore. Whether it's a new pest on the horizon or an evolving response to an existing threat, our events connect our community with the people and knowledge at the forefront of biosecurity.

Our flagship event is the Biosecurity Symposium, a full day programme featuring expert speakers across biosecurity threats, responses, innovation and on the ground field work. It is one of the highlights of the TMBC calendar and a not to be missed event for anyone passionate about protecting our region.
