Bay of Plenty Region Well Represented in NZ Biosecurity Awards

The 2021 Biosecurity Awards finalists were recently announced and once again show the huge effort under way in the Bay of Plenty and across TMBC members to protect New Zealand from pests and diseases.

The 24 finalists named out of a record number of 90 entries included Manaaki Te Awanui, Xerra, Mount Tarawera Wilding Pines project, AsureQuality and Scion.

Huge shout-out to our very own Bay of Plenty Regional Council who were nominated in two categories: the Local and Central Government Award for their Marine Biosecurity team and also for the Innovation Award for their GeoPest development.

The Biosecurity Awards winners will be announced at an awards dinner at the Banquet Hall, Parliament Buildings, Wellington on Wednesday 16 February 2022.
