Bay of Plenty Regional Council enact world first Bio-Control project

Moth beetle to control invasive moth plant

Bay of Plenty Regional Council is using the moth beetle to control the invasive moth plant weed in what is a world-first project.

The moth plant is a native of Argentina and Brazil and has been in New Zealand since 1888. It’s also a major problem weed that thrives in our mild Tauranga climate.
