TMBC 'Spotlight on Biosecurity' Week 2020

TMBC 'Spotlight on Biosecurity' Week 2020

Our TMBC partners are supporting and hosting a week of biosecurity-related activities in and around Tauranga Moana, from Monday 2 November - Friday 6 November including:

Port of Tauranga Biosecurity Excellence, Port-based with visits to associated facilities
A key focus of the Port of Tauranga Excellence group is to implement activities to raise biosecurity awareness amongst Port staff, contractors and visitors (including associated businesses and providers etc) and educate them on how they can help reduce the risk of unwanted pests and pathogens entering New Zealand through the Port. After holding successful Biosecurity Weeks in the past, another similar event will be held in 2020 that will engage more people in quality conversations about managing biosecurity risk. There will be two days of dedicated staffroom visits and conversations over morning tea shouts including calendars, playing cards and any current pest alerts or new posters and giveaways.

Kiwifruit Grower Biosecurity Day - Wednesday 4 November 9am - 1pm, 21 Adams Avenue Mount Maunganui

KVH and Zespri, as well as special guest speakers, are hosting an event dedicated to learning more about the initiatives underway to protect the New Zealand kiwifruit industry from unwanted pests and diseases.
